Treatment brings hope and relief to people who are suffering and I find it deeply gratifying to partner with clients in this process. I provide therapy to individuals, couples, and groups for a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, family conflict, and relationship issues.
In addition to my general therapy practice, I specialize in treating people with codependent behavior and thinking. I have extensive experience helping partners of addicts and people who grew up with addiction in their families recover from the impact these issues have had on their relationships.
I also treat young people ages 14 – 21. Nothing is more painful than to watch your child struggle with emotional issues and feel unable to help them. I have experience supporting teens and young adults during this challenging time in their lives.
Many people overextend themselves for others in an effort to make relationships work. These well-intentioned efforts can become compulsive, leading to a state of codependency which is confusing and painful. People mistakenly think they have to abandon a relationship in order to treat codependency. But that is not the case.
This psychotherapy group is focused on healing and changing codependent patterns of interaction. Learning to establish boundaries is essential to the process. Healthy boundaries can improve the quality and functioning of relationships. The group will be especially helpful for people in relationships with addicts and people raised in families affected by addiction, where codependency is common.
